We have lived in Copenhagen for four years now. Because of that we know the neighborhoods well and we can offer some candid advice on where to stay from two guys who are not from here. We aren’t even Danish – so can objectively look at the city to make recommendations on where to find the ultimate Copenhagen Airbnb for your trip.
Heck, we’ve been doing it for years! We’ve helped friends and family visiting Copenhagen find Airbnbs and we’ve obviously had to find our very own apartments. We even looked at what seemed like hundreds of Copenhagen apartments until we found the one that we purchased near Central Station.
Copenhagen is our home, so we know it well yet we aren’t from here, so we look at it from a foreign perspective. That’s why we are confident that we’ve developed a list of the best Copenhagen Airbnb rentals.
Some links may be affiliate links and we are Airbnb Associates. This means we may get paid if you buy something or take an action after clicking certain links at no extra cost to you.

The Best Time to Book a Copenhagen Airbnb
Asking “when is the best time to visit Copenhagen?” is a loaded questions. The city takes on a new life with the change of every season and the only thing that rings true is you won’t be let down or at a lack of things to do.
For a detailed understanding of what to expect from month to month, we suggest reading our post on The Best Time of Year to Visit Copenhagen.
For the purposes of finding an Airbnb in Copenhagen, seasonality will definitely play a role in pricing and supply.
Airbnb pricing is dynamic, which means it changes with demand. Whether you realize it or not, this is also true for hotels and traditional lodging. The cheaper months for any type of housing will be January through March and the most expensive time for Copenhagen lodging is the period from June to September. Prices rise and fall with European tourist season.
The shoulder season (spring and fall) will be the cheapest and you’ll find another slight rise in the Christmas season, but not as much as the summer peaks.
Airbnb pricing also includes taxes, service charges and sometimes cleaning fees. Hotels add on the first two as well, so you’re probably used to seeing a final payment higher than the advertised price, but it’s worth explaining.
How We Picked Our Top Copenhagen Airbnb Properties
A lot went into our list and we are happy to do the research and clicking around in order to make you Copenhagen trip planning easier.
We prioritize a few things when we picked each home:
First, we narrowed our list to properties with recent reviews and a long history of renting in Copenhagen. Any red flags in these reviews and we immediately moved on to other listings.
Secondly, we put a focus on superhosts or Airbnb hosts that have a history of hosting and aren’t the occasional user. Some people rent their property 3 weeks a year when they travel and that’s all. These are hosts with a more professional outlook to your stay at their property.
Next we considered the area in which these rentals are located. There’s a huge inventory of Copenhagen Airbnb homes, but if you’re traveling 20 minutes each way to see the attractions in the city center – it’s not worth booking.
Lastly we considered the most important thing – would we book this home for our mothers. If we couldn’t quickly say yes, then it didn’t make our list.

We’ve broken the city down to five “zones” that we recommend. We’ll show you 3 properties in each zone for a grand list of 15 properties. If you’re planning in a hurry and just want a quick top 5, here are our top picks in each zone of the city:

Ready to Book a Copenhagen Airbnb?
If you’re still reading up to this point, I’ll guess you’re pretty close to booking an Airbnb in Copenhagen. Here are a few last tips for finding the best place and using Airbnb Copenhagen to book your lodging.
- We did our best to give you prices that were available now – however many properties have dynamic pricing throughout the year and additional fees like taxes and service charges. Hotels do the same, so it’s nothing new, but keep that in mind and check all final charges on Airbnb.
- Most properties will have someone greet you with keys at the property and others may have a keypad to enter. This is why communication with your host is important, make sure you know how to get in before arrival.
- To some travelers (Americans like us) Danish homes will be a bit different. Embrace the chance to stay in an authentic environment! Nothing is too out of the ordinary.
